Southsiders Top Cubs 10-4 FRASER, MICHIGAN (DETROIT MSBL NEWZWIRE)
New White Sox Aaron Pishalski pitched five solid innings, then locked in the win with a 3 RBI double in the bottom of the 6th, as the White Sox notched their first win in 2019, topping the Cubs 10-4.
The win is Pishalski's first in the Hughes division. Ken Grawburg struck out 3 for a 2-inning save, and the Sox moved up into a 4th place tie.
The White Sox used small ball and agressive baserunning to stake an early lead, pilfering three pillows in the bottom of the first. However, the Cubs managed to cut down two runs at the plate in the stanza, limiting the damage. Gardulski, Witherspoon and Pishalski enjoyed multi-hit games, with the former chalking up 3 hits on the day. Pishalski finished with 4 RBI, and Sexton - a Detroit MSBL rookie - continues to swing a hot bat in the young season.
The White Sox were rejuvenated with fresh white jerseys, which will prove superior to the black alternates as the temperatures creep up. They'll look to continue trending upward when they take on the Cardinals, 6:00 PM Wednesday at Hazel Park.
